CAMDEN MARKET:

Camden Market is justifiably one of London’s top attractions.

It is a young place and it takes hours to explore. At weekends it gets extremely crowded, but it is beautiful to walk along the Camden stretch of the Grand Union Canal, looking at the narrow boats on one side and the market stalls on the other.

The area is full of shops and stores. Everything is on sale here, clothing, music, antiques, collectibles, ethnic art, rugs and food, drink and 1960s clothing: a bit of everything. Camden market is actually several markets wrapped into one. There is Camden Lock market, The Stables Market and Camden Canal Market.

Camden Lock Market:

Established in 1975 was the market which started the phenomenon that now draws more than 150000 people a week to the Camden towns Markets.

There is always something happening here. Days in Camden Lock start slow and easy, shops and stalls open around 10 a.m. usually until 6 p.m. although some traders stay open later. In the evening the theatres, pubs, clubs and restaurants continue to swing until at least 11 p.m.

The stable Market:

Here there is much to appeal to people of all ages and tastes: from the latest alternative fashion, through the best selection of vintage clothing shops in London, to the joy of collecting bottles.

It is  a great  and varied place to shop. In total there are around 350 shops and stalls trade at the weekend and many are now open every day of the week.

Camden Canal Market:

It is open Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 9. 30 a.m. to 6.30 p.m.

For many years this market was an unpretentious general market, but it has now become a much more interesting place to visit.

About 150 stalls and shops sell a wide range of goods including fashion accessories, recorded music, computers games, clothing, jewellery, giftware and a few traders offer collectables. You can also enjoy international take-away food here. It is possible to get to Camden by tube on Northern line. At the weekend catching the bus is a better option than taking your car because, as in most parts of London, parking spaces are few.
